Job description
This opportunity isn’t something you’ll often see in the Cambridge tech space, for two reasons. Firstly, this is an opportunity for you to join a 300+ person business, who have all their manufacturing and R&D facilities here in Cambridgeshire, rather than outsourcing internationally. Secondly, you will join the business as a key member of R&D, reporting directly into the director of development. You get to take full ownership of all technical aspects relating to successful delivery of their R&D projects. You’ll also receive a strong benefits package, 25 days annual leave (not including bank holidays), annual bonus, share options, volunteering scheme, genuine flexible & hybrid working, income protection, life assurance, private medical insurance, health cash plan, social club offers to all employees & an electric vehicle scheme,
You will be a technical lead, experiencing a broad remit within the business, no pigeonholing. You’ll be leading and owning the work on Ink Jet Print System development, across the full development life-cycle. From creating the technical specification through design and verification and into production and product integration. You’ll take the customer requirements and translate that these into technical design specifications to meet product requirements, which you’ll then take onto coordinate engineering resource across R&D, Manufacturing & customer support, all here across Cambridgeshire.
Given this is a hands on, niche specialist role, it’s important to note, you’ll need experience in design of fluid handling and pneumatic systems with consideration for materials compatibility. You’ll also need to understand motion systems, motors, bearing, mechanisms, and mounting methods. You’ll be the commercial point of contact but will also be the type of personality who can translate commercial requirements into engineering terms, being equipped to communicate with different groups of individuals internally & externally.
You’ll be based near north Cambridge, working with an organisation who specialise in digital ink-jet technology, offering cutting edge solutions across different industries. This high-tech business emphasises sustainability, aiming to revolutionise manufacturing with eco-friendly getting technology.
