Our client is seeking an IT Business Analyst to join their team. Reporting directly to the CTO, the IT Business Analyst will be responsible for selecting and adopting appropriate software tools to achieve business benefits through greater levels of automation.
You’ll be part of a team of 5 within a growing 150-person organization. As the sole business analyst, you’ll project manage, drive change, manage stakeholder expectations, and deliver impactful solutions. With a strong software development background and agile experience, you’ll bring structure and process to the team.

Key Projects
  • Updating validation systems for medical professionals joining the company.
  • Transitioning clinical workforce rota management to modern technology.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensuring project delivery, Evaluate systems and processes, considering people, organization, technology, data, and information.
  • Document processes, identify pain points, and uncover opportunities for improvement. Define user and business needs for effective solutions and collaborate with stakeholders to address challenges.
  • Narrow down requirements and clarify success factors. Negotiate between competing needs to establish realistic goals.
  • Create detailed "as-is" and "to-be" process maps to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and deliver expected business benefits.
  • Convert complex needs into clear, testable requirements and prepare related technical and functional specifications.
  • Identify and assess IT solutions, analyze gaps, and participate in solution design, including setting up and configuring proof of concepts and pilots.
  • Ensure automation initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals. Analyze the impact of changes and define success metrics, including reporting and analytics.
  • Act as a bridge between business and technical teams, ensuring implementation aligns with expectations.
  • Understand business and policy constraints, conduct supplier audits, and assess cybersecurity and data protection implications.
  • Stay updated on business analysis methods and tools, and support the team by sharing knowledge.
 
Education, Qualifications & Training
  • A Master's degree in a technical or STEM-related field from a recognized and accredited university is essential.
 
Experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Proven experience working with senior stakeholders to achieve consensus for change.
  • Ideally proven Project Management experience
  • Ideally, experience working with a similar healthcare-providing company or within the healthcare industry.
  • Experience delivering significant business automation projects, preferably across a distributed remote workforce.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating business applications with centralized user authentication and management information reporting.
 
Knowledge and Skills
  • Technical proficiency in at least one scripting language or similar (e.g., Perl, Bash, VB, JavaScript, etc.).
  • Ideally formal project management experience
  • In-depth knowledge of API integration challenges and solutions.
  • Strong proficiency in Visio and Excel for process mapping and data analysis.
 
Additional Experience & Technical Skills
  • Previous experience in IT software development, either as a developer or in quality assurance (QA).
  • Experience working with software development tools such as Jira to gather, track, and manage requirements.
  • Knowledge of markup languages such as HTML and XML.
