Cloud Architect
Cambridge/London Hybrid x2/3 per week in office

Are you passionate about designing and developing cutting-edge cloud-native systems and services? We are seeking a Cloud Architect to lead innovative solutions to complex problems while implementing industry best practices. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to take a holistic view of our systems and collaborate closely with various teams, including Site Reliability Engineering, engineering, external vendors, and customers, to ensure optimal solutions are found and shared widely.

As a Cloud Architect, you will lead projects, mentor team members, and contribute to our direction and strategy. This is a unique hands-on role where you will develop prototypes and contribute to production implementation, playing a critical part in shaping our cloud-native solutions across a range of applications and platforms.

  • Continuously seek ways to improve technology and processes to increase quality, reduce costs, and enhance time-to-market
  • Collaborate with engineering and data science teams to develop new and improved capabilities
  • Share knowledge through mentorship and leadership
About You:We are looking for a talented individual with a can-do attitude and a desire to learn new skills and technologies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in some of the following areas:
Must-Haves:
  • Developing cloud-native applications (preferably with Kubernetes and/or AWS)
  • Architectural design
  • Networking (e.g., DNS, routing, firewalls)
  • Security (e.g., authentication, authorization, encryption, TLS)
  • Implementing Infrastructure as Code
  • System design patterns and best practices
Great-to-Haves:
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or higher qualification in computer science or related discipline
  • Containerization
  • Kubernetes
  • Service meshes
  • Linux, shell-scripting, and command-line tools
  • Source-control management (e.g., Git)
  • CI/CD and GitOps
  • Programming in one or more high-level programming languages (e.g., Python)
  • Object-oriented programming and design
  • Standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, SOC2, or ISO27001:2013)
Location and Flexibility:This is a hybrid role based in our Cambridge or London office, with the expectation of being in the office at least twice a week
