Dylan Anderson
Recruitment Consultant
Dylan joined the Engineering team at SoCode in May 2023.
"I cover a broad range of roles in the Manufacturing, Supply Chain & Operations space, as well as some of the weird and whacky roles we have pop up.
I come from a recruitment background, I heard great things about SoCode from friends and previous colleagues that I worked with so it made sense to see if there was any opportunities that aligned. Having grown up here, I had no clue about the amount of exciting and innovate projects that were happening on my doorstep without me knowing! It’s been great to learn more about the local technology scene and the impact it’s having on the wider world.
Working at SoCode motivates me to strive for more in both a professional sense as well as outside of work. Being around driven and ambitious high achievers will inevitably have a knock on effect and I look forward to the day that I’m at the top as well. The office is a great environment with likeminded people and a good mixture of camaraderie and hunger. SoCode has taught me the importance of process within recruitment and how getting the basics nailed will really help to make the job a better experience."
What advice would you give someone looking to get into recruitment?
"I would advise people who are looking to get into recruitment to be willing sacrifice a lot of time and graft before seeing results. Recruitment has a perception of a “quick win” which couldn’t be further from the truth if you do things properly. All great things take time and that includes your career."
What inspires you?
"The idea of self improvement and being better version of yourself than the year or day before is what drives me. Being able to have a purpose, with long term goals that can be broken down is what inspires me to do better."
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when grew up?
"I never knew what I wanted to do when I grew up. Like most people in the industry, I fell into recruitment and that was probably because I never knew what I wanted to do. Recruitment isn’t something that you’re told about at school, as well as many other jobs / industries out there."
Where would we find you outside of work?
"Outside of work, you’ll find me socialising with friends, at a music event or at the gym."
