Aimee Vincent Bunn
Client Success Manager
Aimee started her journey at SoCode in July 2020, where she joined as a Recruitment Consultant.
During her time here, Aimee has taken on multiple roles, from expanding the Software Test and QA desk to generate over £300k in annual fees to hiring an additional recruiter in 2022. While leading a small team of recruiters, she played a key role in launching Women in STEM, organising meetups to connect women in Tech across Cambridge, and completing a DEI course to better support our clients in enhancing their diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies.
Now serving as our Community and Client Success Manager and DEI specialist, Aimee leads our ‘Tech Leaders’ and ‘Women in STEM’ meetups in Cambridge while ensuring our clients receive top-tier solutions and support.
“I’ve worn many hats here, and the opportunity to explore different aspects of the business has been incredibly valuable. My experience as a hands-on recruiter has given me a deep understanding of the consequences of poor hiring decisions and the importance of candidate experience, as well as the need to seamlessly integrate with our clients. It’s been great to work somewhere where I have been able to carve out my own career path and spend more time doing things I love: organising events, ensuring our clients are getting the best possible service, and help organisations improve their DEI.
What advice would you give someone looking to get into recruitment?
"My advice would be just to do it and believe in yourself. As long as you can listen; be willing to learn and don't allow a bad day to get the better of you, then you'll thrive in a career like this. I struggled with direction when I first started at SoCode, I often felt like I knew best, however the moment I allowed myself to be coached and taught alternative ways, I became successful!"
What did you want to be when you grew up?
"When I was a child, I really wanted to be a vet. I grew up on a farm, so loving and taking care of animals came naturally. I remember finding a young injured deer when I was out in the woods and carried it all the way home, I nursed it and bottle fed it back to health."
How do you like to spend your time outside of work?
"On the weekends you'll likely find me out on a walk somewhere, either in the woods or at the beach. I love being outside (so much so that I think I may have been a dog in a past life). I am a regular gym-goer but that's because I am often out for dinner so I need to balance the copious amounts of food I consume!"
Fun Fact about Aimee:
"I can drive a tractor... I used to be able to drive a combine and harvest the fields when I was younger to earn some pocket money during the school summer holidays."
